December 6, 2023: The human existence can't be without water, as we use it for cooking meals, consuming, bathing, and washing. but the human beings of Kagoropa village in Ayipe parish Kuluba Sub/county in Koboko district with six thousand eight hundred eighty -five people are  not having a dependable, clean source of drinking water.

Their situation is very tough, and the axiom that water is life couldn't locate its authentic meaning with them, and we attested to their problem whilst we went to survey borehole drilling points at Kagoropa, wherein we discovered ladies trekking kilometers under scorching sun to get water from remote places for domestic use.

The ladies who wore a forlorn appearance bemoaned their unbearable plight and expressed their dismay to the leaders for not finding alternative to their problems.

Hajjat Medina Nahan, the National Resistant Movement (NRM) Director for Administration and finance had dispatched a team of geophysical surveyors to identify viable borehole drilling sites to reduce their issues, however her attempt hit a snag as the surveyors couldn't spot any site for sinking boreholes to avert their sufferings.

They are absolutely peeved with  the pathetic situation, Mr. Lebu Idoro, the LC1 chairperson of the area stated, "we are asking the authorities to do something considered necessary due to the fact our difficulty has turned out to be an excessive amount.

However, in line with the geophysical surveyor, the vicinity has no tangible water points; it is difficult to discover water.

He said the most effective way to rescuing the community is through a solar-powered borehole, which can be drilled inside the valley wherein water has settled, and then it could be pumped up to save the communities.

He advised that the presence of a sun-powered borehole would be  actual life-changing situation for the community of Kagoropa.
I wrote this story with my palms wobbling due to Maneno Nadia's narration, a resident at Kagoropa trading centre who told me that she walks  each morning, before heading to the garden, 5 miles with jerricans to acquire water from  Kaya River.
