Who is Bankrolling Confusion in  Arua District?

I  know someone might encomium some councilors of Arua district and respond to my article with a raw insult and intimidation but I will not blame him or her, because the truth is that we  Lugbaras have no respect to each other, whatever the reason may be some of  our people think I should always  massage their egos with patronising questions, please! as a journalist I am not meant to be a bootlicker.

However, I should also slide my finger across the letters on my phone very carefully and correctly while typing what looks like speaking to the fact of the fever pitch about the Arua district headquarters location standoff dominating the public space becoming a pronounced issue on daily basis, which I believe will be fought to the finish to ultimately determine the person to represent the people of Vurra county in 2026 election.

This is not the first time such foolish blood related standoffs over district headquarters location is happening among  Lugbara people, in 2006 when counties of Maracha and Terego were removed from Arua district to form a single district, the headquarter issue became contentious, until Terego County decided to return to Arua District and left Maracha County alone to form that district but atleast the parameters of their disagreement could be understood to sone point  because it was two different counties with many sub/counties far apart from each other.

Now with Vurra  county with only four sub counties who are siblings almost proximity to each other and  I have never heard or read anything at least not since elections started with Constituent Assembly in 1994 about confusion, disunity or intrigues with Vurra people and surely I might not have read enough of the history of Vurra people and I even guess events of centuries ago of euphemism referring certain sub/counties andrukumva associated with wildfox , I guess have  all changed context  and cannot be used to tell the story of the district headquarters rift because if you can understand Lugbara people very well, then you are good to understand Arua district conundrum.

First of all Vurra county should have been the first county under Arua district to get its own district before,, Yumbe,  Koboko, Maracha, Terego and Madi Okollo as reward from the National Resistant Movement (NRM) because when NRM became the detested party like most perilous animal in West Nile,  it was only the people in Vurra county constantly giving votes for President Yoweri Museveni and NRM.

Vurra county should have been much more better with infrastructural development, healthcare services, clean drinking water sources  and economic empowerment of the local  people better than elsewhere in West Nile region but because of our own  egosyntonic, Vurra county is among the poorest counties in West Nile region lagging behind economically with very poor service deliveries.
Any person with authentic information can either refute this or agree with me, after 2011 election, there was window of  opportunity that opened for one of our Lugbara to get a ministerial position, 'astaghfirullah',  the whispers of shaytan were all over and that opportunity was missed because of ego-mindedness of our people, this explains why no Lugbara man was appointed as minister in President Yoweri Museveni's fouth term (2011-2016).

Now tieback  to Arua district headquarters rift, New Vision August 23, 2020 quoted the then Arua district vice chairperson Boniface Alioni as saying that the district had drawn sh15b budget for the construction of a three storayed council complex hall at Arivu.
"They have reallocated sh1.4 b to start construction of the ground floor for the office in Arivu, we shall reallocate money to kickstart the project," Boniface Alioni was quoted in the New Vision..
Alioni seems by then got convinced with the outcome of the consensus meeting organized at Vurra sub/county headquarters where elders, religious leaders and other key personalities were transported from all the four sub counties that formed Arua district, who together with the politicians unanimously agreed that,  the district headquarters should be at Arivu.

Now who has spoiled the clean water and bankrolling the confusion! why then after 2021 election to cause combustions in Vurra?,
Any person present who attended that meeting at Vurra sub/county that resolved Arivu as district headquarters should ask the person who organized that meeting why is he confusing them and an councilor from Ajia, Arivu, Logiri and Vurra alike, should  thing inwardly because  political gladiators are using them to play their political cards to win 2026 parliamentary seat at ease nothing else . Politics is all about serving people with heart and not causing disunity.
